NO HANDS Massage Code of Responsibility
This code of responsibility is both wide ranging and profound. It breaks new ground in simplicity and ‘Adult responsibility’ for the Massage profession. All Association members undertake to adhere to it. Breaches in this code will result in expulsion from our Association with loss of all benefits.
Respect for client safety, comfort and welfare is your paramount responsibility. This means that it is your sole responsibility to:
- Obtain explicit consent from your client (or their legal guardian) for each treatment and not to mislead a client for personal gain
- Keep all client records confidential and in a secure location
- Ensure adequate hygiene, quality of materials and safety of equipment used
- Only offer treatments for which you are properly qualified and insured
- Respect the professional boundaries that exist between therapist and client
- Ask questions that will discover any contraindications to treatment
- Locate, advertise, dress and behave to a professional standard
- Have professional indemnity and public liability insurance and be properly insured for all services offered and products sold
- Treat all other health professionals with the utmost respect
- Keep yourself informed and up to date of developments in the world of Massage and continue to develop your Massage
